Delegate Assembly Attendance Waiver Request

ICAA Policy for Attendance at the Accreditation Hearings/Meetings

All schools applying to or participating in ICAA are required to send an official representative from the school to the annual Accreditation Hearings/Meetings held in Tulsa, Oklahoma, each summer.  This is necessary to provide each school with training in ICAA policies and procedures as well as to encourage the peer involvement that is fundamental to the ICAA accreditation process.  These representatives are also available to provide necessary input and representation of their schools during the review process.

Representatives from Accredited schools serve as voting delegates of the Delegate Assembly, the official governing body of ICAA, and hold key positions as officers, commissioners, Review Committee chairmen, and Review Committee members.  These representatives are crucial to the effectiveness of the accreditation hearings.  Accredited schools that fail to send a representative may be designated as Accredited on Advisement the first year, Accredited Warned after the first year, Accredited Probation after the second year, or dropped from ICAA.

Failure of other schools to send an official representative to the ICAA Accreditation Hearings/Meetings may result in action by the ICAA Commission for Accreditation.  Applicant schools that are not in attendance may have their applications denied.  Pre-Candidate or Candidate schools seeking to advance in status may be required to remain at status or may be dropped from ICAA.  Schools currently under special investigation or disciplinary action may face greater consequences including being dropped from accreditation.  Special consideration may be given to schools that are unable to send a representative to the summer Accreditation Hearings/Meetings due to extenuating circumstances (e.g. international school representative unable to obtain required visa).
